Directv to Hell TV Service

This all started on March 4, 2018, when I obtained service with Directv and was promised several discounts and a promotion that had many discounts. Little did I know that it was a HUGE LIE because my first month of service there was an issue with the bill on March 6, 2018, and the woman that I talked to kicked me straight out of my promotion and discounts. So, that was the very first point I should’ve canceled my service.

I had to call them again on March 26, 2018. I asked them about the $15 off meant to be applied after 2-3 Directv Billings, but that never happened. John with Directv stated that the $15 discount would be applied on May 6, 2018 – June 5, 2018, but both months came and went without any discounts other than a Military discount. When I signed up for service with Directv at the local AT&T store, I was promised several discounts, but never got anything other than a military discount. This is appalling!

During the Months of March-November I was on the phone and live chat with Directv at least 3-4 times a month or more, and the issues were never resolved about the discounts and being kicked out of the promotions I had when I got the service with Directv. I have spent countless hours on the phone and online with Directv and never had any good results. At times, I had to be on the phone with Directv for over 1hr, and all they ever said is: “I’m sorry you feel like that,” but they never corrected what happened with my account.

November 9th, 2018, I turned my service off because they couldn’t get their act together on what the amount of the bill was. Every month, it was a different amount without even ordering any movies, no nothing. So, when I decided I had enough with Directv, then they wanted to offer me service for $28 a month, but that wouldn’t have happened because they were to focus on the issues with the other billing that needed to be paid that they screwed up not me.

However, during the conversation with the Directv, I told them to turn the service off, and the employee told me she would ship the boxes to me to send the equipment back to Directv. Well, I got the boxes a week later, and I shipped the equipment back to Directv the very next day through UPS, which was delivered promptly. Now I receive a bill stating I owe for the equipment that I don’t have and they are billing me for $562.65. All they can tell me is: “give it time.”

The processing is slow but yet you’re charging me for non-returned equipment? They said: “Yes, we’re sorry but that is the process, but it should show up sometime soon.” REALLY! Then on top of that, they are still charging me the early cancellation fee of over $300, and I don’t think that is fair either.

On Saturday, December 8, 2018, I spent 1hr 11mins 22secs on the phone with Directv and was transferred four times before ending up with someone who still couldn’t answer my questions. Directv has been telling me to come back to them, and they won’t charge me the early termination fee but keep sending emails wanting to give me $300 visa card and not change the issue with my billing and fix all the promotions they screwed me out of.

The customer service stinks! With Directv, no one knows what they are doing or how to correct issues on an account. No one knows how to fix issues with credits and promotions. The customer service is never responsive nor helpful. All they can do is LIE to lure innocent customers to get their service. This is an outright rip-off, and Directv has to fix it without further delay. This is the worst service there can ever be!

Then Directv sends me a ton of emails saying come back and we will take the early termination off and you can have the package at $19 a month plus taxes. So I called them one more time on 12/12/2018 with rep ID: 418426 and she wasn’t any help at all. Told me that I would have to pay more to be reconnected? WHAT! She told me the email doesn’t matter its only for NEW customers but the email clearing states come back and we will give you $300 visa card. So she told me I owe $368.25 with all the crap they put me through and she was even RUDE so I decided to take the bad credit with Directv.

I don’t make it a habit of not paying my bills but this is one that I feel they messed me over bad with. I would like to hear if anyone else has had a similar issue with Directv.
